We are spending the rest of the 2018-19 School Year in Boston!
For the rest of the 2018-19 school year (January - July 2019), our Founder, Marlene Markard, is taking a working sabbatical in Boston, where she is completing her Graduate Certificate in Music Education and Autism at the Boston Conservatory at the Berklee College of Music, which is a program that is offered in conjunction with the Berklee Institute for Arts Education and Special Needs (BIAESN). Marlene has joined the BIAESN faculty at the Boston Conservatory, where she is teaching private piano and general music to students with special needs and twice exceptional students.

Private Piano Lessons in the Hamptons
Ages: Typically 5 and up
Semester: Lessons may start at any time
Length: 30-minute, 45-minute or 1-hour lessons available
Marlene teaches piano to students ages five and older, but she teaches much more than just the mechanics of playing the piano. Her teaching philosophy is to instill a life-long love of music in her students, to provide the foundation for true music literacy, and to teach her students how to make music, not just to play notes on a page. She accomplishes these things by incorporating ear training, music theory, musicality, music interpretation, music history, active listening, rhythm exercises, singing, and movement into her private, one-on-one classes. Marlene prepares students to participate successfully in NYSSMA festivals (regularly achieving perfect scores) at all levels and holds students recitals for her year-round students to give them the experience of playing for a live audience and sharing music with others. Marlene is also trained to teach piano and general music to twice exceptional students as well as students with special needs.
For your convenience, we offer private lessons in your home on your own piano. Starting in the Fall of 2018, we began offering distance piano lessons via Skype for experienced piano students.
Watch your child’s music competence, confidence, and musicality grow in these individually-tailored private lessons. Class materials are determined on a case-by-case basis and are not included in the tuition. Fees vary depending on lesson length and location. Please Contact Me to schedule a trial lesson.
